Day 21 – New Goals

So February starts tomorrow . . . I have a new mission. Curing Diabetes Naturally is my mantra, and the big secret is to lose that big ol’ belly of mine. So now that I’m pretty much past the withdrawal and temptation phase, and the I’m too lazy to cook food phase, it’s time to start setting some more goals. So my goal for February is to get out of the 340s and the 330s . . . yup . . . I’m shootin’ for 329 or better. I’ve got 17 pounds to lose this month base on this morning’s Natural Weigh in of 346.

Day 20 – Donuts and Cookies

I slept the day away . . . too many late nights working and too much of a headache that won’t go away. So I skipped out on breakfast and lunch, but on the plus side, my Natural Weigh was 341.4.

Day 19 – Free Protein Bar

I received in the mail today, 3 free protein bars from the Atkins website. As you may recall, I’m trying to cut back on them, so I gave one away, ate one, and the other is tempting me, but I’ll be getting rid of it. I set a record today on my blood sugar . . . 201, and my Morning Natural Weigh was 344.2

First . . . before you read this entry, do yourself a favor and click on the video icon below to watch this video from American Idol:

I’m assuming you’ve watched it at this point, and I must say . . . AMEN TO LARRY PLATT BROTHERS AND SISTERS. If you’re one of those, you look like like an idiot. On that note, you may be interested in an article I wrote for Stone Cold Magic Magazine regarding this very thing. It’s called Yo, Yo, reed dis, dawg.

Bacon Cures Seizures?

Diet Coke With BaconI’m a fan of Bacon. I think we all know that. By the way, I mean that literally too. Check out the Bacon Fan Page on Facebook. Yes. I’m a fan. I’ve even been shown by a facebook friend a Bacon Brownie Recipe. Of course, I have and will refrain from indulging, but you’ve gotta admit, that looks pretty tasty. On the food network, when ever someone is cooking for a judge, extra points are always given for including Bacon in the recipe.

And believe it or not, in the short term Bacon has some fat burning properties if eaten with minimal carbs. Ah the pig . . . a natural way to cure diabetes . . . a natural way to lose weight, and hear me now and believe me later . . . a natural way to cure seizures. Check out this article someone showed me about Naturally Curing (or reducing) seizures with Bacon and Butter!

Day 15 – Induction 2.0

Hey there dear followers (both of you) . . . as my past experience dictates, it takes some serious effort to convince my body that I’m serious. If you’ve been following my past two weeks, you know that I haven’t officially been following the rules of the induction phase of the diet. See Atkins Phase 1 for details, however, the gist is this . . . 20 carbs max, no bread, pasta, grains, etc. Just vegetables (with a few exceptions), fats, most dairy and meat (including fish, poultry, etc). I’ve stayed within the food restrictions (except for maybe the sunflower seeds). However . . .  I ate too much of it. On most days, I went over the 20 carb limit. I also drank a lot more caffeine than is recommended on Atkins Phase 1.

However, yesterday was a better day, and I’ve eased in quite well I think. My body is pretty well used to this. I haven’t really had any cravings . . . no more meat dreams . . .

Day 14 – Stupid Blood Sugar!

Nothing much to report. I got rid of (and by got rid of I mean “ate”) all of my remaining protein bars and shakes. Their fine and legal for the diet, but my problem is that I eat too many of them, so no more for now especially after a

Day 13 – Protein Bars

This always happens the first couple of weeks that I cut out my carbs . . .  I get serious cravings, and I “conquer” them by eating waaaaaaaaaaay too many Atkins Protein Bars. I’ve got one left. After that, I’m going cold turkey for a while. The bars are fine if you eat one a day, not 6. Hence my Naked Morning Weigh In of 349 pounds!
